The VCS Radio Symphony and Jazz presents The EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument)

Taking Musical Instrument Digital Interface to new heights Radio Jazz and symphony premieres their introduction of the AKAI EWI5000. It’s the latest in professional wind controllers and will grace the stage starting with VCS Radio Jazz’s Reno Performance featuring eighth grade student Ashley Jones. Later this season, Brandon Karlson will bring the digital wonderment to The VCS Radio Symphony at the Vacaville Performing Arts Theater.

It’s a tricky instrument to master but operates under a similar fingering principle as a saxophone with a range of several octaves and wireless Bluetooth connection to the amplifier. This adds to the ever increasing creative arsenal of the VCS Radio Conservatory in preparation for the VCS NEM Project hitting the world very shortly.  More on that later!
