About the project -- As the coronavirus shelter-in-place had disrupted our regular orchestra classes and rehearsals, we've had to look for unique ways to find creative outlets for our excellent students. There was a curious, experimental film created without sound in 1940 by abstract artist, Dwinell Grant. I've tasked some of my students to develop a musical score by performing an instant solo to film's imagery. It consists of each student's composed digital background and a piece of abstract improvised music representing what they saw on the screen. We got some fun results.
